David Halley
Starting in 1991 as a project metallurgist at Kidston Gold Mine, David held increasingly senior positions within Inspectorate, Placer Dome, Barrick, BHP Billiton and Glencore, in both operational and commercial disciplines.
Whilst at BHP Billiton David was Base Metals Marketing Manager for Australia, responsible for the marketing and trading of copper, zinc and lead concentrates, copper cathode and gold and silver bullion within Australia. He also had global responsibility for the technical performance of the Base Metals Marketing area, with specific focus on weighing, assaying, and sampling.
David left BHP Billiton to join Glencore as Chief Operating Officer and then President & CEO for their majority owned PASAR Corporation in the Philippines. PASAR, consistently one of the Philippines Top 10 companies, is a large and successful copper smelting and refining business.
Vic McLaglen
Vic is a metallurgist with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, including 15 years with direct copper, zinc and lead concentrate sales, marketing and trading experience. Vic speaks Mandarin and lives in China, where he has been resident for over 13 years.
Vic’s significant technical and operational experience has been a major contributor to the success of his career in the sales, marketing and logistics of base and precious metal concentrates. With the responsibility for a typical annual concentrates sales volume of 300,000MT being marketed to smelters in China, Japan, South Korea and India, Vic is highly experienced in the sales and marketing of base metal concentrates.
